Griffin quotes Socrates after 103-91 win against Raptors
Los Angeles- Following a 12 point win earlier today against the Toronto Raptors, L.A. Clippers All-Star Blake Griffin was asking about his potential inclusion on the 2012 Olympic basketball team. "It's really a huge honour to even be mentioned as a candidate for the team. The roster is filled with some of the greatest guys to play the game," said a visible shaken Griffin, who had 18 points tonight. "Personally, I don't feel like I deserve this prestigious recognition." Griffin, who won the Rookie of the Year award last season, reflected the praise thrown at him. "I'm blessed to even be on this team. Hell, I'd be more than satisfied to be the 12th man here or on a high school varsity team, for that matter. Did you see Mo [Williams] go off for 25 tonight? Did you see Chauncey [Billups] dish out 14 dimes? They should be having this conversation, not me. This isn't my place, I don't deserve and will never deserve to be here. You just keep feeding me these lies and expect to get a story, don't you? Take this and make what you want of it: False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil. You say you're reporters spreading the news, but all I see is parasitic hypocrites feeding off my demise. Hypocrisy, the lie, is the true sister of evil, intolerance, and cruelty. I want nothing more of this." The sophomore then stormed away from the locker room in a fit of laughter and tears. He also had 9 rebounds on the night.
